Latino HIV/AIDS Prevention Initiative
In 2005, the California Department of Health Services reported that more than 25 percent of people infected with HIV statewide are Latinos.
The Latino HIV/AIDS Prevention Initiative, sponsored by the California Office of AIDS, will improve HIV prevention and care services for Latinos throughout the state, ultimately slowing down the spread of HIV and mitigating the impact of AIDS. Through training and technical assistance, PCI and partners will increase the HIV prevention and care skills of health and social service providers that serve Latino communities.
